Lucidity Configuration Aid
Don't worry if all the information is not readily available for all questions - this can be discussed with UVS. The more information that is available, the more accurate the configuration of video wall controller that can be made & hence more accurate cost.

1. Display outputs
1.1. How many displays does the controller need to drive in total
1.2. What is the configuration of the video wall(s) if more than 1
1.3. What resolution do the display outputs need to be e.g. HD or 4K@60Hz
1.4. Do the video wall displays have 4K loop through feature to allow 1x 4K output to drive 4x displays each with native HD content. If not known, please provide the make and model no. of the displays & UVS will verify
1.5. Will all display outputs be the same resolution
1.6. Is the distance between the controller location and the video wall displays known
although UVS will not be providing the interconnection between the video wall controller HDMI outputs and the video wall displays, these need to be high quality signal transmission systems, like HDMI to CAT6 extenders, which are connected via point to point RJ45 terminated CAT6 shielded cables, or high quality HDMI OAC cables capable for the HD or 4K signals being transmitted
2. What type of source content is required to be seen on the video wall and therefore required as a source input to the video wall controller
2.1. No of HDMI Inputs, are up to 4K@30Hz input resolution accepted
2.2. Any 4K@60Hz HDMI inputs required - this would increase no. and type of input cards required and increase overall cost but 4K@60Hz input card available
Note: in control rooms we don't see any needs for 4K@60Hz, if it is required we have to use a specific input card in a larger controller frame which significantly increses costs
2.3. Any DVI inputs required, if yes how many
2.4. Any composite video inputs reqired
for composite video inputs we normally convert them to IP streams and display them via RTSP streams using an IP decoder input card
2.5. Quantity of RTSP H264 IP video streams to be decoded & displayed simultaneously on the video wall(s). Question 2.5 is extremely important information to be able to configure the controller with the required number of IP decoding cards and for the optimum cost
2.6. What resolution are the IP streams e.g. 1280x720@30Hz or 1920x1080@30Hz, this makes a huge difference to how many IP decoding cards are required e.g. 1x IP card could decode 12x 1920x1080@30Hz streams OR 28x 1280x720@30Hz streams or 50x 640x480 (D1) resolution streams
if client says all streams are at 1920x1080 resolution @30Hz, and they say they want to display e.g. 12x camera streams per HD video wall display, it does not make sense to have all HD streams being used for the video wall. If they can give us a lower resolution stream, like 1280x720, it will significantly reduce the cost of the video wall controller by reducing the number if IP decoding cards required
2.7. How many remote workstations to be configured as sources & displayed via VNC or RDP (remote desktop)
2.8. Are web pages to be configurable as sources for display
Can they give you any examples of the web pages, do the web pages have any video content
2.9. Are RSS feeds and message boxes to be configurable sources for display
2.10. Any other source types required
3. Lucidity Videowall Control Software
3.1. Number of users required
3.2. Is there a requirement for Active Directory
3.3. Will there be a Video Mangement System (VMS) in use? VMS manufacturer
3.4. Is there a requirement for VMS Integration for video wall control?
All controllers are provided with Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC COA
(except WBC90/110 which are currently Windows 10 LTSC 2019 OS)
