Government and blue light security projects on the rise for UVS

It is perhaps not surprising that the end of Covid lockdown and recent terror alerts has prompted a rise in enquiries we have been receiving from Government and blue light security clients keen to review and upgrade their control rooms.

As a result, we have completed 25 control room video wall projects for a wide range of administrative buildings, headquarters and prisons in the last year.

That has included everything from upgrading control room video walls to installing completely new systems.

Security projects, including Government and blue light security projects, now make up 64 per cent of our business, up from 46 per cent two years ago.

We have also seen a significant rise in the amount of AV over IP solutions we are supplying with our Lucidity video wall solutions. In these large operation centre installations, multiple workstations and data feeds are being encoded to IP so they can be distributed over the network and viewed in any location via the Lucidity video wall controller solution.

Our work is obviously something which will help protect both people and the country’s key infrastructure and buildings. Projects include new operations centres where multiple agency CCTV camera feeds, never previously available in one location, have been made available for use to increase the security of the public.

In one large multi-Lucidity video wall controller installation alone during this period, UVS provided over 500 channels of HD resolution IP decoding for multiple data sources, including workstations, collaboration inputs and IP video, which were encoded and distributed on the network for use in multiple rooms at the site.

We have also seen an increase in demand for KVM over IP solutions and has supplied several control room systems, where operators are provided with full simultaneous access to multiple workstations.

These are securely installed in an equipment room, via a single keyboard and mouse and local monitors.

As a result of all this work we now need to find new, qualified AV system integration partners that we can work with for these enquiries for our Lucidity video wall controller technology.
