Douglas Village Shopping Mall

The Douglas Village shopping mall in Cork County Ireland was modernised and rebuilt within 18 months, the investment was around 100 million Euros.

The Douglas Village contains 113 retail shops and offers 390000 sq ft. of retail space. The different parking spaces offer room for 2000 cars. For entertainment besides shopping there is a cinema with 5 halls as well as 10 pubs.

The rebuild included, among others, the realisation of 1000 new parking places; they are operated and controlled with a new system. The complete rebuild of the Douglas Village shopping Mall in Cork County allowed an investment in the efficiency of the business operation and the provision of a high level of customer service.

Several HD-Cameras were installed for the purpose of analysing the footfall of visitors to the mall. These are part of the surveillance system that includes approx. 200 network cameras. All cameras are connected to a large screen video wall in the control centre for an efficient overview and control.

The control room contains two UVS 70-inch DLP rear projection cubes that are integrated in the furniture. The Milestone XProtect video surveillance system manages all camera feeds and provides monitoring and analytics.

The visitors and traffic are closely monitored by the system and any developing issues are quickly dealt with before they start to effect the business operation.  The implementation of the integrated control room has reduced the quantity of security personnel required to provide the secure environment.

The two installed UVS 70 inch cubes are of type EC-70-SXT+ with a resolution of 1400×1050 pixels.
